Operation Aubery
Operation Aubery was the code name of 47 Commando's D-Day mission to capture Port en Bessin and to link up with US forces landing at OMAHA Beach.
Roll of honour
Although Operation Aubery was successful in achieving its objectives, the cost was high. At a roll call on 9th June 1944, of the 431 men who set off from England, 46 (11%) had been killed or drowned, 65 (15%) wounded, 6 captured and 27 were missing.
We will remember them.
